Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

Quarterbacks

Nick Foles PHI - Well, the QB situation in Philly has been a roller coaster ride to say the least. Thanks to another Vick injury, Foles got another chance to show us what he's got. Foles has now played significant time in 4 games. The breakdown? One historically great game, one historically awful game, and 2 above average games. 3 outta 4 aint bad. Let's just hope the historically repugnant game won't ever be repeated.....unless he's on the opponents fantasy team.

Case Keenum HOU - Keenum was solid in his first game as a starter, and even better in his second game. The Texans have a lot of offensive weapons and seem to know how to use Keenum's mobility effectively. At 2-6 and the future of Schaub unguaranteed, I fully expect the Texans to ride out the rest of the season with Keenum to find out if he has a future as a starter.

Jason Campbell CLE - Back from the dead, Campbell has been a surprisingly above average QB in his 2 games starting for the Browns. The only way Campbell loses this job is to injury and the Browns certainly have weapons on offense.

Running Backs

Chris Ivory NYJ - Ivory blew up this week and is taking a stranglehold on this job. He should be owned in all leagues and could be a high end FLEX option moving forward.

Rashad Jennings OAK - If McFadden is out for any length of time, Jennings becomes a workhorse back that can catch the ball out of the backfield. Last week he shredded the Eagles with a full complement of touches. Don't expect that level of production weekly, but he will be useful.

Donald Brown IND - Let's face it, T-Rich has been just short of awful this season. The eyeball test shows me that Brown looks more explosive, elusive, and quicker. He is splitting snaps with Richardson, who's excuse "learning to play with the new o-line" is looking to be just that, an excuse, as the season wears on. Brown has proven himself worthy of a continued workload.

Shonn Greene TEN - Finally healthy, Greene is getting into the mix in Tennessee. Last week he toted the call 9 times for 38 yards and a TD, while managing to catch a pass for 28 yards as well. Greene is not a special talent, he is a plodder in every sense of the word. But the Titans have proven they don't want Johnson handling a full workload, especially goal line duties. Greene is in linw for steady work, but will likely rely on a TD to make him not disappoint owners.

Mike Tolbert CAR - Tolbert is very TD reliant, but he is and will continue to be the goal line back. The nice thing is that he does get some work between the 20's and is a solid pass catcher out of the backfield. In PPR leagues, he can be useful even if he doesnt score a TD.

Jonathan Stewart CAR - I know, 2 RB's from the same team, and neither of them are the listed starter? Stewart is healthy and it can be argued that he is the most talented and complete back on the roster. No one in Carolina will be a 20 carry guy, but they will all get touches. Stewart is especialy adept as a receiver which makes him more valuable in PPR leagues.

Wide Receivers

Aaron Dobson NE - Dobson should be a top priority on everyone's waiver wire. The 2nd round draft pick is very talented and starting to figure out how to play in the NFL. He is playing nearly every down as the Patriots "X" receiver, which will garner a ton of single coverage with Amendola and Gronk finally healthy. Dobson is a WR# moving forward with a legit shot at cracking weekly WR2 consideration.

Riley Cooper PHI - Cooper was on my watch list 2 weeks ago, time to promote him. Cooper has been a favorite target of Nick Foles and that continued last week, as Cooper put up a career game with 139 yards and 3 TD's. He will likely never produce a game like that again in his career. However, he has a clear raport with Foles and I expect him to be useful the rest of the way.

Marlon Brown BAL - A lot of owners soured on Brown after his hot start. While he can be a bit TD reliant, he has still been involved in the Raven's offense. He is turning into a PPR WR4/5 and worth a roster spot.

Brandon LaFell CAR - The Panthers offense has been rolling and it seems that Mike Shula is figuring out what works for this group. LaFell has a tendency to disappear, but as the #2 WR in an offense that has scored 30+ points in 5 out of the last 6 games, he is worth a roster spot.

Lance Moore NO - Moore was a favorite mid round target due to his consistent production in previous seasons. Unfortunately he was fairly anemic to start the season before going down with an injury. Since returning, he has put up decent numbers and is working his way back into this offense. This is a speculative pick up because we don't know which Moore we will see the rest of the way, but if he can return to 2012 form he could be a nice piece down the stretch.

Eddie Royal SDC - Working his way back into the mix after an injury, Royal looks like he will continue to get short to intermediate routes while Keenan Allen takes the top off defenses. With the way the Chargers offense is moving the ball, Royal should get 4-5 catches a week, making him a solid bench receiver for PPR teams.

Mike Brown JAX - Brown was on the watch list 2 weeks ago and gets bumped to the pickup list this week. Brown is a 2nd year pllayer converted from QB, so it makes sense that he took some time to get his feet wet. He started coming on before Blackmon got suspended, so I expect him to be the #2 WR in JAX moving forward, a surprisingly relevant fantasy position due to the vast amount of garbage time.

Cole Beasley DAL - Beasley is another week 8 watch list player being promoted to pickup status. Other than a poor showing in Detroit, he has consistenly produced a minimum of 8 points in PPR leagues over the past 5 games. He has a low ceiling, but is clearly involved in the offense and someone Romo trusts. He would be higher on this list if we knew what his role would be when Miles Austin returns.

Rod Streater OAK - Streater is the underneath receiver for the Raiders and has been a consistent producer in PPR leagues, catching no less than 3 passes for 40+ yards in each of the past 4 games.

Watch List

Doug Baldwin SEA - In Baldwin's first game as a starter, he turned 10 targets into 6 receptions for 75 yards and a score. Now, Seattle was in comeback mode most of the game after falling behind to the Bucs 21-0 in the 1st quarter (SERIOUSLY??). With Harvin on the mend, it's hard to say what his role will be going forward, but keep an eye on him.

Chris Givens STL - Easily one of the bigger sleeper busts this season, Givens has quietly emerged the past 2 weeks catchin 4 passes in each game for 50+ yards. These are decent PPR numbers, but the point here is that maybe he is starting to come on. Clearly very talented, Givens has the potential to be a legit NFL WR. Clemens seems to like him more than Bradford did, so watch him closely.

LaVon Brazill - With T.Y. Hilton taking over the #1 WR duties, there is room for someone to step into his old role. Griff Whalen got the first shot at it, converting only 3 of 9 targets and failing to seperate from defenders. Brazill is much more talented and fits the mold of a field stretcher with a 4.37 40 time. I expect Brazill to take over 3rd WR duties sooner than later, and perhaps even WR2 the way DHB has been playing.

Greg Little CLE - Seems like every year he has a breakout game and hits the waiver wire lists, only to disappoint and get dropped a few weeks later. Little is much like DHB, a very physically gifted player with hands that couldn't catch a beach ball from 3 feet away. I won't buy into the waiver hype again, but another solid performance may force my hand. Keep an eye on him as Campbell seems to like to throw his way.

Andrew Hawkins CIN - Hawkins was a big waiver wire pickup in PPR leagues last season and returned from injury last week. He didn't do much, but the Bengals struggled as a whole. With Marvin Jones and A.J. Green operating on the outsides, Hawkins will get a lot of open area underneath and has the quicks to make something out of it.

Tight Ends

Tim Wright TB - Wright is really coming on and is a favorite target of Mike Glennon. Wright can be considered a low end TE1 moving forward, go get him.

Coby Fleener IND - Fleener will continue to see increased looks with Reggie Wayne out for the season. He will have plenty of opportunity, so get him on your roster in case he blows up.

Watch List

Zach Ertz PHI - Foles likes to use the tight ends and Ertz is a talented rookie. Keep an eye on his usage compared to Brent Celek over the next game or two. If he gets extended play, he will be worth rostering.
